Where Engineering Meets Imagination®
Challenge Island is an award-winning STEAM enrichment program that brings kids together for hands-on adventures in creativity, problem solving, and teamwork. Each session transports students to a themed “island” where they tackle exciting challenges using science, technology, engineering, art, and math—mixed with plenty of imagination and fun! Working in collaborative teams, kids build, design, experiment, and explore while developing critical thinking, communication, and creativity skills.
Time: 1:30-2:30 pm, Wednesdays
Price: $160 for a full 10-week session (cost is per student and due upon enrollment on Our School Hangout)
Get ready for an unforgettable STEAM adventure! Inspired by the popular I Survived book series, Disaster Island takes students on a thrilling journey through some of the most famous disasters in history.
Each week, students will explore the history and science behind a major world event, then put their creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork skills to the test with a hands-on Challenge Island challenge. From the eruption of Mount Vesuvius and the sinking of the Titanic to the Great San Francisco Earthquake and more, students will learn, build, experiment, and problem-solve their way through history.
