Mrs. Katie Teal- Co-founder and Teacher
Miss Katie has been an educator for 8 years. She has a Bachelors degree in Special Education from Wayne State University. She spent 5 of her teaching years in low-income school districts, servicing special education students from grades K-8. For the last three years, Miss Katie has been working as a private tutor and is one of the co-founders of Connections Learning Lab. She was recently married in Colorado to her now husband, Ian!

Mrs. Amie Oliveira- Co-founder and Teacher
Miss Amie is the other co-founder of Connections Learning Lab and is a graduate of GVSU with a degree in both Elementary Education and Physical Education. With 3 energetic kiddos of her own, she knows how important it is to keep kids engaged in learning and enthusiastic about knowledge! She was a second grade teacher for 4 years, a Physical Education teacher for a year and then had the privilege to teach elementary students in a special education program before relocating for her husband's future as a Physician Assistant. |
Mrs. Samantha Javier- Assistant Teacher
Miss Sam attended college at East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania And graduated in 2011. She received a degree in Elementary Education pre-K to 6th grade as well as Special Education K-12. She worked as a long-term substitute teacher for five years in Reading, PA. She is married and has two daughters ages 5 and 7. For the last three years, Miss Sam has worked with the students in the homeschool setting. She is well loved and adored by all the students she works with! Miss Sam is the assistant teacher for Connections Learning Lab. |
Miss Victoria- Tutor
Miss Victoria has been an educator for 8 years, graduating from Lee University in Tennessee. She has worked with students in grades k-8 and currently is a early-childhood special education teacher. Miss Victoria loves using hands-on learning with her students. She has a dog named Theo and loves spoiling her nephew! Miss Lindsey- Tutor
Miss Lindsey has a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Central Michigan University, and brings hands-on experience from student teaching at Wass Elementary right here in Troy. Following her student teaching, she served as a dedicated Title One Teacher at Wass for several years, honing on skills in individualized instruction. Currently she works as a Secretary to the Assistant Principal at Smith Middle School in Troy , where she has been blessed to work at for the last 7 years. Miss Lindsey has two daughters and is a Troy resident! |
